What is a portable wash bay?
Portable Wash bays are relocatable self-contained wash-down stations used for wash down activity involving vehicles and machinery with the primary objective of retaining wastewater before it enters the sewar network. They are also commonly referred to as car wash containers, heavy duty wash bays, wash mats, and portable wash bay systems.
An entry-level portable wash bay system typically consists of a vehicle wash mat constructed from either standard PVC or HD PVC (heavy duty), a bunded perimeter wall allowing for vehicle access while retaining all wastewater within and a pump for transporting wastewater for treatment, recycling or to a holding tank depending on your requirements.

Our process
- Wash down a vehicle on the wash mat.
- As water collects on the wash mat the automatic wash bay pump will pump water off the mat to a holding tank.
- As the level in the tank rises it activates the float switch which activates the pump feed to the separator which gravity feeds to the sewer.
- The separator pump controller has 2 x floats, 1 for activating the pump and the other acts as a high level alarm indicating a flashing strobe to signal the level in the tank reaching a high level and to investigate.

Wastewater removal
All Trade Wash washbays come with a minimum 12V pump and 3M power cable for pumping washdown wastewater either for treatment, recycling or to a holding tank. Our 12v Pump features a stainless steel screened basket, Automatic float switch with a 3m water proof /fused cable
